HOW TO USE

Follow these step-by-step directions when using Shoe GOO® Boots & Gloves:

  1. Please read all directions before using. For best results, roughen surface before use. Use SG Boot & Gloves in a well-ventilated area.
  2. Puncture seal in neck of the tube using pointer cap. Paroduct can be used between 50 and 90 °F / 10 and 32 °C. Dry time decreases when used between 70 and 85 °F / 21 and 29 °C.
  3. Always test a small area to ensure proper application technique and dry time.
  4. Make sure surface to be protected is clean, dry and free of dirt. Apply directly to the area to be protected, bonded or repaired.
  5. Allow the repair to dry for 24 hours. Depending on the materials and the temperature, maximum strength may not be reached for 48 to 72 hours.
  6. To ensure easy cap removal, apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to the threads of the tube before replacing the cap.
  7. Clean uncured adhesive with small amounts of acetone or naphtha. The adhesive will ball up and brush off. Cured material may be removed by cutting or scraping.

APPLICATION NOTES

Waterproofing/Protecting Gloves:
         SG Boots & Gloves is water resistant immediately upon application. Use thin coats to build a thick coating, over high wear areas and along seams allowing each layer to set 3-4 hours.

Coating Boot or Shoe Toes:

Step 1 step 1 application of boots & gloves Tape edge of area to be protected off with masking or painter's tape.
Step 2 step 2 application of boots & gloves Apply SG Boots & Gloves over surface
Step 3 step 3 application of boots & gloves Quickly spread with throw-away spreader such as a popsicle stick before adhesive skins over. NOTE: Use thin coats to build a thick coating, however, make sure each coat has complete and even coverage. Let set 3-4 hours between coatings.
Step 4 step 4 application of boots & gloves Remove tape immediately after spreading.
Step 5 step 5 application of boots & gloves Product will self-level after about 30 minutes and set smoothly.

Reparing Worn Soles:
         Place tape over hole inside boot or shoe before applying SG Boots & Gloves to outer sole. Fille hole with SG Boots & Gloves and place boot upside down to allow repair to dry.

Use As A Contact Adhesive:
         Spread a coating on each surface to be joined together. Allow to partially dry, then press both surfaces together. Hardens by solvent evaporation. Forms an immediate bond that is difficult to reposition after both adhesive coated surfaces are placed in contact with each other and sufficient pressure is exerted to establish full contact between both surfaces.

NOTE: SG Boots & Gloves may damage finished surfaces. Avoid such contact until SG Boots & Gloves is completely dry. Not recommended for any items that come into contact with food, drinking water or animals.
